British Inès Guittard

Inès Guittard can set a dog’s bark to music – a bark from the edge of a China desert. You may meet her in a lounge or a in muddy river. She can go into raptures over cinnamon or some rare piano chord. She can reverently carry a nineteen-holes cosmic concentrator or a Winnie-the-Pooh teddy bear, and accurately bargain a price. Inès Guittard is capable of everything.

She is not dark but luminous. Her ideas are not forty but a hundred thousand, or one only. Her plans are immutable, forthright and yet multiple, metamorphous, and maybe unique. She holds the key of her desires.

Anybody that tries to draw her out is doomed. She then becomes a wall, uttering no word.

Vile people tried to worm her out many times – she did not even offer the shadow of a revelation. She goes over it, as if toying with other dreams. She does not stare. She does not worship. She casts a transparent glance over treble clefs.

She looks frail – you could almost regard her as negligible quantity, destined to be wind-blown, crowd-crushed, or torrent-drown. But she crosses borders – she persists, she ventures, building an active freedom. She decided to live. Life happens by her, in her, for her, and she says “yes”. The angel approves.

Inès Guittard has no shrink, no cat, no dog, no collection, no card, no boss, no burden. She is light. She travels. She is no trouble for others nor for herself. She nobly sets a dog’s bark to music, notices a tritone in the boats’ sirens in Istanbul, enjoys a cake and feverishly sits down at the piano.
